Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has given further assurance that his Imo state counterpart, Gov. Rochas Okorocha will not decamp from the rulling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Gannduje stated that Okorocha would remain in the party and work for its victory in 2019.

The governor, who is heading the National Peace and Reconciliation Committee of the APC for the South East zone made this known while addressing journalists shortly after the committee met behind closed doors with Gov. Okoracha at the Imo state government House today,Thursday,29,2018

“We are here on a peace mission and we met with the governor. During the closed door meeting, he assured us that he is not leaving the party. He is contesting for Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he promised that he will work for President Buhari come 2019”, Gov. Ganduje remarked.

“We have achieved a lot with the assurances we got from the governor. We shall continue dialoging between now and the next few hours so that the peace we are hoping for can be achieved”, he added.

Responding, Gov. Rochas Okorocha who warmly welcomed the committee restated resolve to stay in the party and work towards its victory in the general elections next year.

Gov. Ganduje’s committee is expected to meet aspirants, candidates for the 2019 elections at all levels, aggrieved persons or groups and other stakeholders towards reconciling aggrieved party members.
