Responding at the gathering, a representative of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government area, Mr, Kamal Oyeboh a.k.a Didan owo confessed that he was not a supporter of the lawmaker during the struggle for the party’s ticket, but that he was impressed with the committees the lawmakers had just inaugurated.
Oyeboh stated that if the committees could work vigorously in accordance with the good motives of the lawmaker and help him achieve his aim, there was no one that could stop the lawmaker from representing Lagos Island 11 for five consecutive terms in the state house of assembly.
A 75-year-old Community leader, who is also the Head of Gomez Chieftaincy family and Chairman of the Elder Committee, Mr, Fatai Olatunji said that since his involvement in Lagos politics he had never seen any lawmaker forming such committees.
He added that if all the outlined projects in the committees were carried out successfully, there was no single reason all the old people in Lagos Island would not sacrifice their last sweat for the lawmaker to be voted back into office in 2023.
The Chairman of the Education Committee, Mr, Ahmed Olaufe told our correspondent in an interview that members of the committees should not see themselves as small gods, and called on them to serve rather than seeing themselves as rulers.
