INDUCTION OF MEMBERS OF STAFF OF THE NIGERIAN METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY (NiMet) AND FELLOWS’ INVESTITURE

 

The Director General/CEO of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike, on Friday, 28th November 2025, congratulated NiMet management staff who were conferred as Fellows, along with other staff inducted as Associate and Full Members of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered). At the 2025 Strategists Forum, fifty-one (51) Fellows were invested, including ten (10) from NiMet:

 

i. Engr. Hamid Olayinka Abdulkareem – Director, Engineering & Technical Services

ii. Mrs. Glory Amarachi Onyegbule – Director, Applied Meteorological Services

iii. Akoji Alex Yusuf– Director, Finance & Accounts

iv. Dr. Nasiru Sani – Director, Human Resources Management & Administration

v. Aransola Abdulatif Yusuf – General Manager, Commercial

vi. Dr. Emmanuel O. Uket – Special Assistant, General Services to the DG/CEO

vii. Hauwa Zakari – Deputy General Manager, Administration (Kano Office)

viii. Dr. Balarabe Abubakar Murktar – Registrar, MIST Katsina

ix. Sani Sadiq Abubakar – Deputy General Manager, Administration

x. Barr. Odumodu Ebele Nwamaka – Deputy General Manager, Legal Services

 

Professor Anosike, a Fellow of the Institute, provided the platform that enabled interested staff to pursue membership across various categories. This support is commendable, as membership of such institutes is often essential for career advancement, especially for officers in the Administrative Cadre.

 

Known for his commitment to administrative efficiency and continuous improvement, the Director General has consistently emphasized the need for optimal management of resources and processes, ensuring that operations are performed quickly and effectively to help improve service delivery.

 

The 2025 Strategists Forum, themed “Creating National Strategic Advantage for Sustainable Development through Public–Private Partnership,” provided the platform for this reaffirmation. Represented by Professor Weli, Director of Weather Forecasting Services, Professor Anosike restated this commitment while delivering his goodwill message in Abuja.
