2023: Lagos Lawmaker, Temitope Adewale Tasks Ifako Ijaye Residents on PVC Collection

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Temitope Adewale on Thursday said the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Ifako Ijaye would ensure that internal wrangling within the party in the area is earnestly addressed, noting as founding fathers unity would  allow to prevail.

This was just as he urged the people of the area to register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs). Temitope made the remarks during the annual stakeholders’ constituency meeting in Ifako Ijaye area of the State where party supporters, representatives of CAN, CDA, CDC, League of Imams, artisans, were present.

This year’s theme was, “2023 General Elections: The Imperatives of Permanent Voter’s Card.”The event was conducted simultaneously in all the 40 constituencies in the State where opinions and demands of the residents were collated and thereafter incorporated into the subsequent year’s budget estimates.

Temitope urged Ifako Ijaye council chairman Hon. Usmat Hamzat to keep the good work going in the constituency.

Speaking on the internal wrangling among Ifako Ijaye party supporters, Temitope who was the Chairman house committee on Transport at the Lagos state house of assembly said, “There is a difference between politics and friendship.

Ifako Ijaye is going to be one again where there will be equal liberty for everyone.“ Ifako Ijaye must remain one, we must not be divided into factions.

Temitope now urges constituency member to always remain in peace, love and unity among themselves.

In his address with the mammoth crowd, the Inec representative who also spoke as the event, Mr, urged the residents to get their PVC, noting that their candidates of their choice can only emerged victorious if they have thier PVC.

He said, “It is our civic right to go out and vote for the person we believe in. This is not the time to lament; some people are myopic How do we vote against leaders we don’t want? It is by registering and do what is right.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Temitope said that the ruling party in the state is poised to ensure victory of the APC presidential candidate who is his father, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.While enjoining the constituents to get their PVCs, claiming that Ifako Ijaye will score the highest number of vote for the presidency and Governor come 2023.

Amuwo-Odofin 2: Appeal Court affirms Rauf’s Lagos Assembly election, dismisses LP suit

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, on Friday, dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party candidate, David Doherty, against Hon. Wale Rauf of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

August24news.com gathered that the judgement was celebrated on the official facebook page of the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi.

The Appeal Court affirmed the ruling of the House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which declared Rauf as the rightful winner of the Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2 election conducted on March 18, 2023.

It also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Doherty and issue new one to Rauf of the APC.

Rauf would be returning to the House to serve as a second term lawmaker, having served between 2019 and 2023.

Our Correspondent had reported that the House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lagos, upturned the election of Doherty and declared Rauf as winner.

Doherty not satisfied with the ruling, approached the Court of Appeal.

BREAKING: 2 REJECTED AS LAGOS LAWMAKERS CONFIRM SANWO-OLU’S SECOND BATCH OF NOMINEES

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed 15 out of the second batch of 18 nominees sent by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently.



The confirmation happened after Hon. Mojeed Fatai, Chief Whip and chairman of the screening committee, laid a report of the exercise before the House.

At a sitting presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the lawmakers rejected Engr. Olalere Odusote and Mr. Samuel Egube.

However, the House resolved to step down the confirmation of Hon. Tolani Sule Akibu for another day.

Dr. Obasa, commended the committee saying the members did a thorough job screening the nominees. His position was supported by the lawmakers present at plenary.
