Lagos APC Congress: OMO ALAUSA Foundation Hails Peaceful Process, Express Confidence in New Excos as He Felicitates with All

US Based Doctor and member of the ruling All Progressive congress from Epe Local Government, Dr. Olayinka Alausa has commended the 2021 State Congress of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, describing it as “fantastic, smooth and peaceful”.

Alausa, the great philanthropist and brain behind the famous OmoAlausa Foundation spoke with August24news.com during a Telephone Interview expressed confidence in the capacity of the new party executives.

He commended the Security put in place and the party stakeholders for peaceful conduct.

According to him “I monitored the whole process online and I am fully satisfied with the process”.

“It was fantastic, everything went on fine and smoothly without any issues at all. No acrimony, no challenge. it has been peaceful said OmoAlausa
“APC has been in Nigeria since 1999 haven metamorphized from AD, AC, ACN then APC we have the pedigree, I want to assure all that the transition is going to be seamless and smooth.

“We have no doubt whatsoever in the capacity of these people we have elected to steer our party. Be rest assured that APC will continue to deliver in Lagos State,” Alausa promised

Our political correspondent also found time to ask OmoAlausa Foundation to comment on the reports of some parallel congresses held by aggrieved groups within the Lagos APC, Alausa, said he was not aware of such claiming that the congress approved by the National Secretariat was the one held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

“What APC did is authentic congress, any other one outside this congress is just exercise in futility.

“INEC officials are on ground; national congress committee are on ground and all went on smoothly,” he said.

Alausa said that the aggrieved members of the party did not need to break the house all because they were not happy.

“I want to enjoin, encourage and plead that everybody should come together.

“There is only one APC in Lagos State and this is where the authentic one is, any other one is an aberration,” he added.

Alausa now urged the new executives to commence mobilisation for the next general elections.

On the reported parallel congresses, said he was not aware of such, saying the approved congress was the one that had officials of INEC to monitor and being conducted by party officials sent from the national headquarters.

August24news.com reports that Mr Cornelius Ojelabi emerged the Chairman of the newly elected Lagos APC State Executive Council with Mr Olanrewaju Maiyegun as the deputy chairman.

Others are: Sunmi Odesanya (State Secretary), Biodun Aigbe (State Treasurer), Doyin Banjo (State Financial Secretary), Adewale Ayodele (State Organising Secretary), Oluseye Oladejo (State Publicity Secretary).

Others include: Kehinde Adeniyi (State Welfare Secretary), Doyin Pikudan(State Auditor), Jumoke Okoya-Thomas (State Woman Leader),Dr Muritala Seriki (State Youth Leader) among others.

Alausa called on those from the East senatorial district of the state to be a good ambasador of the party particularly those from the Epe local government adding that Epe excos will make the party proud among others.

It will be recalled that Omo Alausa foundation has embarked on beautiful projects in the past which includes Free medical outreach in Epe Division, grants to over 500 widows during Widows Day, Renovation of public toilet in Ijegun EGBA market, Oriade LCDA in Badagry, Drilling and installation of complete Borehole system in Olorunda LCDA and Ita-awori LCDA in Badagry.

Others are presentation of Soft loan at zero interest rate to market women in all the five Divisions in Lagos State. Visitation to Orphanage homes with gifts in Ikeja Division and Scholarship to brilliant students in Lagos State.

Amuwo-Odofin 2: Appeal Court affirms Rauf’s Lagos Assembly election, dismisses LP suit

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, on Friday, dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party candidate, David Doherty, against Hon. Wale Rauf of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

August24news.com gathered that the judgement was celebrated on the official facebook page of the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi.

The Appeal Court affirmed the ruling of the House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which declared Rauf as the rightful winner of the Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2 election conducted on March 18, 2023.

It also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Doherty and issue new one to Rauf of the APC.

Rauf would be returning to the House to serve as a second term lawmaker, having served between 2019 and 2023.

Our Correspondent had reported that the House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lagos, upturned the election of Doherty and declared Rauf as winner.

Doherty not satisfied with the ruling, approached the Court of Appeal.

BREAKING: 2 REJECTED AS LAGOS LAWMAKERS CONFIRM SANWO-OLU’S SECOND BATCH OF NOMINEES

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed 15 out of the second batch of 18 nominees sent by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently.



The confirmation happened after Hon. Mojeed Fatai, Chief Whip and chairman of the screening committee, laid a report of the exercise before the House.

At a sitting presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the lawmakers rejected Engr. Olalere Odusote and Mr. Samuel Egube.

However, the House resolved to step down the confirmation of Hon. Tolani Sule Akibu for another day.

Dr. Obasa, commended the committee saying the members did a thorough job screening the nominees. His position was supported by the lawmakers present at plenary.
