LAGOS ASSEMBLY APPROVE GOVERNOR’S REQUEST OF 7 SPECIAL ADVISER’S

Members of the Lagos Assembly during Plenary approved Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s request for clearance of appointment of 7 Special Advisers (Cabinet rank) into the Lagos State Executive Council.

Obasa
This is sequel to the letter forwarded to the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa by the Governor which reads that “In line with the recent resignation that have been submitted by members of the State Executive Council who wish to pursue higher political aspirations and who pursuant to extant Laws on the subject matter resigned from their position which has now become exigent to appoint 7 new Special Advisers to join the State Executive Council, therefore request the approval of the House for the clearance of appointment of 7 Special Adviser’s into the State Executive Council.”
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun- Sanni who presided over the Plenary stated that
“ Pursuant to Section 196 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the House hereby approves the Governor’s request of clearance of appointment of 7 Special Adviser into the Lagos State Executive Council”.
Following the approval, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni thereafter directed the Clerk, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko to send a letter to the Governor that his request for approval of 7 Special Adviser’s has been granted.
Subsequently, the House adjourns sine die.
