NAC Want INEC To Replace Presidential Candidate

Published

Just  16 days to the general elections,  some members of the National Action Council, (NAC) are requesting  for Reverend Emeka  as  their presidential candidate.

The NAC is among the 73 political parties that fielded candidate for the 2019 presidential election but now wants Hajia Rabia Cengiz their original candidate dropped by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and replaced by Rev Dr King Ezeuko Emeka.

In a statement issued and signed by the National Secretary of the party, Yemi Ayanlade, some members of the National Executive Committee of NAC said they are endorsing Reverend Emeka as their authentic presidential candidate following the action of their national chairman, Rabia Cengiz, who allegedly sold the presidential ticket to Rev Emeka .

In the statement, the aggrieved members said” Cengiz is the one recognised by INEC, but the members insist Rev. Dr. King Emeka Ezeuko is their authentic presidential candidate.

“This is indeed a trying time for our great party; where monetary quest has erased moral values and virtue. We have seen it and we disassociate ourselves from money for hand, back for ground.”

“This is a party that elected a presidential candidate, however the said presidential candidate decided to sell the said ticket to a third party for the sum of N5, 000, 000 this is contained in a document dated 21st day of November, 2018 where our chairman and presidential candidate signed to relinquish her presidential aspiration to Rev. Dr. King Ezeuko Emeka to be substituted for her as the presidential candidate of our noble party.”

“We are a party of truth and we have strong foundation upon which we have built our party. When power is in the hands of the right people, justice is certain.

“But those who decide to sell their birthright for monetary gain must be denied that fate and they must not be supported.

“To this end, we have resolved to clean our party and make it whole again by supporting the person to whom the party presidential position has been sold to and we have concluded to do what is right.

“What are we supposed to do, to deny the 3rd party whom we have been misrepresented to as party? The answer is no. we must stand and defend our party totally.”

“We must right the wrong by correcting the self-styled manner Dr. Hajiya Rabia Y. Cengiz who sold her ticket, for a monetary value without the knowledge of the party members”.

“We as a party have decided in the interest of equity and good conscience to recognize Rev. Dr. King Ezeuko Emeka as the presidential candidate of our party.”

“Henceforth, the party recognizes and accepts Rev. Dr. King Ezeuko Emeka as our presidential candidate.”

“Hajiya Rabia Cengiz is expected to respond to these allegations, meanwhile the matter has been taken to court.

In a separate meeting, state chairmen of the NAC party led by Alhaji Ubale Mohammed also released a statement that backs the action of the NAC national executives.

The state chairmen who met with the national executives committee in abuja on Thursday also impeached Cengiz as national chairman and declared Tijani Idris who is the NAC deputy national chairman north as the new NAC acting national chairman.

According to them “On this day Wednesday 30 th of January, we the executive members of National Action Council and all the state chairmen and their executives hereby declare our support for Alh. Tijani Idris, the former deputy National Chairman North as our New Acting National Chairman of NAC.”

“We also on this day declare our support for REV. DR. King as the presidential candidate of our party National Action Council NAC
