A few months to the 2023 general elections, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State, Chief Monday Onyeme, has said, PDP remains the best option for Nigeria.
Chief Onyeme made the disclosure on Tuesday while addressing members of the PDP during the Ward-to-Ward Campaign of the party at Oshimili North Local Government Area of the State.
According to him, since the emergence of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2015, Nigerians only have tales of woes to tell.
“As Nigerians, we are angry; this is not the country that the PDP left in 2015; we can no longer feed ourselves, Nigeria has become the poverty Headquarters of the world.
“Thank God that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, our former Vice-President, a man who understands Nigeria, and our Governor, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, a man who understands the acts of law-making and administration are prepared to rescue Nigeria and reposition it to be on a progressive course again.
“You are the ones leading this campaign, so, identify those who are yet to be under the umbrella political party and let them see reasons to vote for PDP because, we want 100 percent votes for the PDP.
“Your vote for PDP is a vote to save Nigeria from the clutches of the APC.
“APC expired long ago and has nothing good to offer Nigerians, nobody should be associated with APC because it is a bad omen, let us go back to the glorious days by returning PDP to power.
“Thank God that our Governor, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is moving up as Vice-President, he will attract projects and open up employment and appointment space for our people.
“With Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor, be sure that with me as the Deputy Governor, the people will get good representation,” Onyeme said.
Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and the House of Assembly candidate from the Local Government, Barr. Frank Esenwa, who was accompanied by his wife, told the people why they should be voted for.
Secretary to Delta State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, Chairman, PDP, Delta North, Elder Moses Iduh, and others who spoke at the rallies listed the achievements of Governor Okowa’s administration in the area.
Some of those in the campaign tour include the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Chris Ochor, Chief Godwill Obielum, and Chief Nkem Okwuofu, among others.
