Woman kills children, self over husband’s alleged plan to marry second wife
A 26, years old Kenyan woman, Rukia Wasuna, on Monday, killed herself along with her two children by setting her home on fire after she learnt that her husband wanted to marry a second wife.
According to Citizentv, Wasuna locked her two children, aged 6 and 3 with her inside the house, before she set the house in Otonglo area, of Kisumu County on fire.
Confirming the incident, a local chief, Simon Osege Orwa said preliminary investigations indicated that the woman’s action was as a result of a domestic disagreement.
According to the administrator, the woman’s husband was reportedly planning to marry a second wife and on getting wind of this information, she purchased petrol from a nearby filling station and committed the act.
added that the deceased’s husband was away working in Eldoret as of the time of the incident.
