LAGOS ASSEMBLY FELICITATES WITH FIRST LADY AT 65

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly during plenary on Tuesday commemorate the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 65th birthday.

The lawmakers took turns to celebrate the First Lady, recognizing her lifelong contributions to national development, humanitarian causes, and exemplary public service.
They praised the First Lady for her distinguished service as a Senator and her continued advocacy for the marginalized, describing her as “the most impactful senator in Nigeria’s recent history,” and as well noting her strong alignment with the less privileged and vulnerable in the society.
Hon. Stephen Ogundipe highlighted her loyalty and steadfast support for the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and her selfless service to humanity, stating: “She is not just a pillar behind the President, but a woman whose actions reflect her genuine desire to uplift lives.”
Lending his voice, Hon. Surajudeen Tijani emphasized her relentless efforts in human development and poverty alleviation, noting that her passion for empowering citizens has remained firm through the years.
Contributing, Hon. Olumoh Lukman described Senator Oluremi as the pillar that stands behind the President, a truly family oriented woman who has served as senator and done so much for us not only in Lagos but in Nigeria. “She also pioneered the one-day Governor initiative which is technically to encourage our young ones and the renewed hope agenda initiative”. He reiterated her efforts particularly that people should make donations to fulfill the aim of making sure that the national library comes to reality.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Mojisola Meranda also noted that Senator Oluremi Tinubu is “a mother of the nation”. She prayed for her to finish well just as she had started well.
Hon. Oladipo Ajomale, described Senator Oluremi exceptional qualities and as well commended her unwavering commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, especially the underprivileged.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, who presided over the session, described Senator Oluremi Tinubu as “a woman of substance, virtue, and many commendable qualities. A very distinguished personality”.
He also commended her for sustaining the COWLSO (Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials) which has continued to impact lives meaningfully across the State and beyond.
“A woman with so many qualities and as a Senator, she served her senatorial district passionately with dedication with high commitment and loyalty which no one has been able to do.”
He further noted that when she served as a First lady in Lagos, she was exceptional in everything.
As the nation celebrates the First Lady at 65, the Lagos State House of Assembly reaffirmed its admiration for her enduring legacy of service, compassion, and leadership.
