The Awolowo family has announced the passing of Olusegun Awolowo Jr., a prominent Nigerian lawyer and grandson of the late nationalist and statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

In a heartfelt statement, the family described Awolowo as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, highlighting his unwavering commitment to his family, his work, and his country.
“He was the world’s most phenomenal husband, father, and grandfather — steady, wise, endlessly loving, and the constant anchor of our family,” the statement read. “A painfully loyal servant to Nigeria, he dedicated his life to the service of his country with vision, integrity, passion, and unwavering commitment.”
