The President, Mandilas International Trade Centre (MITC), Lagos Trade Fair Complex, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amano Investments West Africa Limited, Chief Anthony Amaechi Okeke, has been confirmed as the chief unveiler of the latest book by Remmy Nweke, titled ‘Sagacity Of A Digital Revolution.’

The book slated for public presentation at the side event of the 2022 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) on Thursday, June 9th at the prestigious Welcome Centre Hotels, International Airport Road, Lagos, under the chairmanship of Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani, is being put together by ITREALMS Media group.
Confirming this development, the author and Lead Consulting Strategist at DigitalSENSE Africa cum Group Executive Editor of ITREALMS Media group, Mr. Remmy Nweke, said the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta is expected to deliver a keynote at 2022 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum (NDSF) on the theme, ‘5G: Enthroning Internet Governance for Digital Economy.’
The panel of the book unveiling, he also said, would include the chairman, Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo and President, African Health Journalists Association; a key figure in the African Federation of Science Journalists (AFSJ) as well as the Principal Consultant/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) InterPares Media Limited.
He pointed out that the 2022 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development is the annual digital rights forum by ITREALMS with this year’s theme being: ‘5G: Enthroning Internet Governance for Digital Economy’ while the public presentation of the book: Sagacity of a digital revolution; comes as a sideline event meant to enrich the knowledge base of the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) industry and is authored by Remmy Nweke, a multiple-award winning journalists.
According to Nweke, Chief Okeke is the Ezekwueche of Aguleri Kingdom in Anambra State and holds B.Sc in Business Administration from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he also served as a former Public Relations Officer of DLI Students Union.
Currently, he is the Social Director, NdigboAmaka Progressive Markets Association; an umbrella body of some 58 major markets in Lagos State and also the Coordinator, Soludo Support Group (SSG), Lagos State Chapter as well as the Convener cum Sponsor, Anambra Men & Women for Soludo.
Chief Okeke is equally versed in business and has over 25 years in both local and international business; his experience was brought to bear in the management of Mandilas International Trade Centre which under his watch has been embellished with several reforms which moved the market to enviable heights and were severally rewarded with awards, especially as the best organised trading centre across Lagos State.
Notable is that MITC led by Okeke was recently proclaimed the best secured market in Lagos. He was also recognized specially for the Enforcement of COVID-19 Prevention Measures in the market.

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has announced the public presentation of its book, Nigeria Media Renaissance: GOCOP Perspectives on Online Publishing, on Tuesday, June 17th at Abuja Continental Hotel, at 10.00am.
According to a press statement by GOCOP Publicity Secretary, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, this highly anticipated event promises to be a significant milestone in the literary and publishing landscape.

The book aside tracing the historical trajectory of online journalism in Nigeria is also a veritable contribution towards enriching the discourse on civil liberties, press freedom and the role of the media in the sustenance of democracy, the statement added.
Kwara Court Jails Tailor for Impersonating, Defrauding EFCC Investigator

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has sentenced a 27-year-old fashion designer, Haruna Musa Tolani, to 12 months imprisonment for impersonating and defrauding Callitus Egwuonwu, an investigating officer with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Directorate.
Tolani, an indigene of Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, was initially arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on impersonation and cybercrime on January 28, 2025 and pleaded not guilty, but later changed his plea to guilty after overwhelming evidence was presented by counsel to the EFCC, Sesan Ola.
Count one of the charge reads:
“That you Haruna Musa Tolani in August,2024 at Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud, misrepresented yourself via electronic message sent through unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) to Access Bank Plc. With respect to account number 0022643389, property of Mr Callistus Egwuonwu, with which you purchased N20000.00( Twenty Thousand naira) worth of MTN data which resulted into loss to the owner of the account and you thereby commit an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 14(2) of the cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2015”
Similarly, count two reads:
“That you Haruna Musa Tolani sometime in August,2024 at Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court fraudulently impersonated one Callistus Egwuonwu via electronic message sent through unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) to Access Bank Plc with respect to account number 0022643389, property of Callistus Egwuonwu with intention to purchase MTN data worth Twenty Thousand Naira (20,000.00) which you did purchase and thereby committed offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act,2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of the same Act”
In his judgment, Justice Awogboro imposed a 12-month custodial sentence on Tolani with an option of a fine of N200,00( Two Hundred Thousand Naira). The court also ordered the forfeiture of a First Bank manager’s cheque of N200,000 in favour of the victim and directed the convict to restitute the sum of N20,000, the amount he fraudulently obtained.
Tolani bagged his imprisonment when he was arrested for internet fraud. He was charged to court, pleaded guilty and convicted.
