It was a tragic day as some bandits murdered Mrs. Falilatu Ogunlana Sharafadeen at her residence in the Ogunlana Sharafadeen Tokunbo Compound in Lagos.
Their untimely deaths were precipitated by the refusal of Ogunlana Sharafadeen Tokunbo to sell off the family property to an unknown real property investor that showed interest in it.
The first attack reportedly led to the death of Sharafadeen Tokunbo Ogunlana on December 19, 2018.
Late Mr. Ogunlana Sharafadeen Tokunbo and Late Mrs. Falilatu Ogunlana
According to a source “about a month before Mr. Sharafadeen Tokunbo Ogunlana was killed, he informed a family member that a man presented himself as a real estate investor and signified interest in buying the family house for Twelve Million Naira (12,000,000.00) but that he refused”.
However, our research showed no investigation was conducted by the Nigerian police at that time.
It was further revealed that on November 29, 2021 some bandits attacked the wife of Mr. Ogunlana, Mrs. Falilatu Ogunlana, at her residence in Lagos and killed her in cold blood.
She was said to be returning from hospital when the assailants followed her and killed her. Our research also showed no investigation was conducted by the Nigerian police at that time to elucidate this gruesome act.
However, our investigation showed that a member of the family was also attacked by bandits at the end of 2021.
According to a document obtained from the same source, the Nigerian police suspects that the bandit who attacked this family member are the same set of people that killed the above mentioned deceased persons.
Our investigation shows that the family member’s house was invaded, and the person was almost left for dead at the end of 2021.
According to the information we received from the same source that cannot be revealed for security concerns, the bandits insisted to obtain the title of property of the late Mr. Sharafadeen Tokunboh ogunlana.
Our investigation showed that the matter was reported to the Nigerian police in Lagos and the family were advised not to return to the house for security reasons.
Our investigation revealed that since then the family of the deceased have been living in the shadow of death as they fear being attacked by the bandits.
As of this day, the bandits are still free and the family remains in hiding in fear of being subject to other acts of violence. No one was arrested in link of the killings and violence and the bandits’ identity remains unknown.
Our investigation shows that the bandits are violent and linked to the large property scams that are ongoing in Nigeria, especially in Lagos.
Considering the death of two persons and that attack of a family member, our investigation shows that anyone linked to Mrs. Falilatu Ogunlana or Mr. Sharafadeen Tokunbo Ogunlana could be a potential victim.
Any information that could lead to the identification of the bandits would be helpful and important to disclose to the Nigerian police as soon as possible.
Property scams are in the rise in Nigeria and especially in Lagos and without clear action from the government, acts of violence like the ones illustrated in this article will continue.

Dr. Adediran describes the essence of the celebration as an act of obedience and total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah. He notes that the unwavering trust exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim by his willingness to sacrifice his son as a show of total respect to God is an assurance to all Lagosians that whosoever put his trust in God will not be put to shame.
He acknowledges the Nigerian economic rebound as a fulfillment of promises made by Mr. President at the early stage of this administration when the removal of the fuel subsidy and Forex unification took their toll on the Nation’s economy.
JANDOR posits that while the road may seem tough today, there are genuine efforts being made by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to reposition the country and make life better for all Nigerians.
He urges citizens to remain steadfast and supportive of initiatives aimed at reforming key sectors of the economy, improving infrastructure, and ensuring security across the country.
“Let us continue to stay united and resilient as we journey toward a more prosperous Nigeria.
