LSHA PASSES CRIMINAL JUSTICE BILL INTO LAW; ADOPTS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS ON REAL ESTATE REGULATORY BILL

The Lagos State House of Assembly during Plenary on Monday passed A Bill for a Law to amend the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, CAP.A3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Lawmakers unanimously voted the Bill after its third reading at the Committee of the whole which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wasi Eshinlokun-Sanni.

It would be recalled that the Bill which seeks to amend the apprehension of a person in lieu of any other persons in a criminal matter among other modifications, had gone through its Public Hearing in September 2020.

In the same vein; Members also adopted the recommendations of the report of the Committee on Housing on the “Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority Bill, 2020”.

This Bill is set to regulate the practice and procedure of foreign investments in real estate and its compliance with the Federal Acts, Laws of Lagos State and International Best Practices.

Subsequently, the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko was therefore directed to send a clean copy of the House resolutions to the Governor, Mr.  Babajide Sanwoolu for his assent.
