So-Safe Corps Decorates Deputy State Commander and Deputy Corps Commanders

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corp, has inaugurated and decorated the newly appointed Deputy State Commander and two Deputy Corps Commanders in recognition of their meritorious service, unwavering dedication, and exceptional commitment to the mission and values of the Corps.

 

 

This was made known in a press statement by the State Commander of Corps, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, which was made available to the press by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

 

According to the statement, the ceremony, which was graced by the Hon. Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdulganiyu Hamzat, ably represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair psc (Rtd.), represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr. Biyi Odubote and other dignitaries from Sister Agencies and Civil Organisations, took place on Monday, 22 September, 2025, at the State Headquarters, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, was conducted under the authority of the Commissioner of the Coordinating Ministry and the State Commander in the presence of Senior Officers of the Corps.

 

In his welcome address, the Commander, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, while charging the new Deputy State Commander, DCC Moruf Kolawole Yusuf, Deputy Commander, Operations, DCC Adedamola Adesina AbdulAkeem and Deputy Commander, Intelligence and Investigations, DCC Odukoya Oluyemi Ijaoba emphasized the importance of dedication and professionalism in line of duty. He said it is a new journey and challenge to them. In his words, “your previous achievements and commitment in the corps speaks for you. This elevation is not achieved by chance but hard work. To which much is given, much is expected.” Subsequently, the Commander appreciated the State Government for support especially in provision of necessary equipment and amenities needed in line of duties.

 

In his goodwill message, the Hon. Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdulganiyu Hamzat, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, encouraged the Deputy Commander to make use of the prove that their promotion was not made in error. He said, “you are now entrusted with greater authority and in equal measure, greater accountability will be required from you. You are expected to bring to bear, your wealth of experience, leadership acumen and professionalism in discharging your duties or the progress of the corps and the security of our dear state.” He emphasized that the support and oversight of the ministry in ensuring the core functions effectively in tandem with the governor’s mandate and also upholding the highest standard of discipline and integrity is sacrosanct.

 

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair psc (Rtd.), ably represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr. Biyi Odubote, confirmed the importance of the So-Safe Corps to the extent that it have been able to champion the cause of security in Ogun State. He noted that, promotion is a pyramid, as you go higher, the space become narrow, therefore, even when every officer is performing, not all will be promoted because of the constraint of space. He encouraged all officers of the Corps not to relent in their duties as the state government has always recognized the agency’s impact in the safety of lives and properties across the state.

 

In closing, the Hon. Commissioner supervised the decoration of the three senior officers and also presented them their Letters of Appointment.

 

On behalf of the promoted officers, the Deputy State Commander, DCC Moruf Yusuf, appreciated the State Commander for the trust bestowed on them and also for the recommendation that facilitated their elevation. He promised that they will not relent in their efforts in making sure that the expected standard will not be thwarted.

 

Afterwards, the State Commander decorated two Assistant Corps Commanders, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi as Director of Information and Public Relation and ACC Nurudeen Muibi, as Deputy Director, Intelligence and Investigation.
